Level 1 Football Coaching

COURSE OVERVIEW

Providing an introduction to the principles/practice of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of a team of young football players between the ages of 7 and 16. You must also have an interest in developing the football skills of young people.

COURSE CONTENT

On successful completion of the Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football, candidates should be able to:

• Demonstrate an ability to safely organise and supervise football activities, including: Mini Soccer, Small Sided and Conditioned Games
• Promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, coaches, parents and officials in the overall development of Association Football
• Demonstrate an understanding of related aspects of coaching children Football, including: Coach and Player Development, Good Practice in Club
• Management and Coaching, Health and Safety, Football Club
• Administration, Working with Parents, Attitudes and Ethics, Basic Laws of the game of Association Football, Child Protection, Emergency Aid in Football
• Demonstrate an ability to identify and adapt football activities and sessions for a variety of different age groups
• Demonstrate an awareness of further personal development opportunities in Football including: Coaching, Sports Therapy, administration and officiating
